Casa Milà – La Pedrera
Welcome to Casa Milà, or "La Pedrera," which translates to "The Quarry." Designed by Antoni Gaudí, the genius who must have thought straight lines were for amateurs, this building’s undulating stone facade and wavy, non-linear design make it a standout in Barcelona. Imagine a sandcastle kicked by an artistic toddler, and you’re halfway there.
Inside, you’ll find spiral staircases, bizarre chimneys, and a roof terrace that feels like an alien landscape. It’s as if Gaudí decided to merge Dr. Seuss with a fever dream.
Plan to spend around two hours here, exploring the nooks and crannies. It’s family-friendly, with exhibits that will either fascinate your kids or make them wonder if they’ve accidentally ingested some of Gaudí’s inspiration. Either way, it’s a memorable experience.
